Recent times have seen the Ironsides achieve success that can be matched by few (if any) intermediate level football clubs in England. Dominance of the Surrey South Eastern Combination First Division for several years, including a historic league and cup double in 2007, saw the first team move up a level to the newly reformed Surrey Elite League in 2008. The Reserves, competing in the Surrey Elite Reserve League, have enjoyed success at this higher level too, winning the League Cup in both the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 season. The Sunday Team has also enjoyed many successes, but few can ever compare to the historic treble in the 2007/2008 season, where the team won the League and League Cup, but most impressively, won the Surrey Cup for the first time, beating many strong teams along the way, including a final against The Bell FC, a team captained by ex-professional Robbie Earle. Battersea Ironsides F.C. is truly a club of success and tradition, and the future looks as bright as ever for the Green Army.
