Despite the scoreline, against one of the potential divisional winners, for a large part of the game, the "A" team rose to the challenge of the local derby. Indeed without question they scored the goal of the game if not the month with a stunning long range shot by Fares Bentotsi that left the Greenside Keeper standing. 

 

A  couple of saves by the Greenside Keeper made all the differnce and it was very sloppy play of the highest order that allowed them to come back into the game and which saw Ironsides fall behind. 

 

Considering the match had to be refereed by myself, the Home team manager, let it not be said that Ironsides dont play in the true spirit of the game. An unlucky but clear hand ball resulted in the decisive penalty and a 3-1 defeat. 

 

Still a highlly encouraging performance as the A side focus on their mission on consolidating themselves in the division having been welcomingly but surprisingly promoted to Division 3.
