Don't be fooled by the goals that we got
We're the Ironsides but this was rot.
Sometimes you play so welll and get nothing like last week and sometimes you play like nothing and get something –in this case three precious points.
The wind was a factor and the slopping pitch but with poor cohesion, missed chances it was as well that goals came at good times. Darren Sparkes goal was classy and opportunistic as was Richard Lyle but against a poor but keen Maurice side Ironsides did not dominate as they should. Accordingly FC Maurice pulled one back and it took a cross come shot from substitute Dean Golson to help the Ironsides breathy easy again.
When “Top Scorer” Orobator made it 4-1 after chasing down a ball he should not have got too the game was well and truly over. A sloppy goal kick clearance from our Keeper put a better gloss on te score line for FC Maurice but it did not put any gloss on our mediocre performance.
