Battersea Ironisdes F.C Sunday Team had to settle for a runners up spot in the MDSFL Division 6 after losing their must win match with leaders Sporting Croydon. After suffering two early setbacks, the Ironsides managed to claw their way back into the game, and were all square with 20 minutes remaining. However, a goal against the run of play left the Irons needing 2 goals in the last 6 minutes. They scored one almost immediately, but with a minute remaining, and keeper Stuart Mills joining the attack from a long throw, Sporting Croydon were able to break, and hit home from their own half into the empty net, ending any dreams the Irons had of winning the treble. They must now pick themselves up to face unbeaten Sutton Utd Supporters in the League Cup final. |

Battersea Ironisdes F.C completed a hat-trick of SSEC Intermediate Division 1 League Titles after a 12 game winning streak ended with a 5-0 thrashing of Esher Athletic, and ensured 1st place in the table after a poor start to the season. |
| Sunday Team win Surrey Cup |

The Sunday side have won the first Surrey Cup in their history after beating Feltham Wanderers F.C on Thursday 26th April. Despite going a goal down, the Ironsides showed tremendous spirit to get back in the game, and in the end came away with a well earned 4-2 victory.
It is the first of a possible three trophies for the Sunday side this year, who are also playing in the final of the League Cup and have the League title to play for. For full report click here. |

The Ironsides First team missed out on a Surrey Intermediate Cup final appearance, losing on penalties to Greenside F.C in their semi-final at Chessington & Hook United on Wednesday evening. A magnificent fightback saw them come back from a two goal defecit with 10 minutes of normal time remaining to end the game 4-4. No goals in extra time saw the game go to penalties, which finished 4-3 to Greenside. |
| Carrin Sharpe appointed new A Team manager |

Double Champions, Battersea Ironsides have made history yet again by appointing a Woman to manage one of the Senior Football sides!
Carrin Sharpe has been appointed as Manager of the "A" Team with the task of saving the club from the threat of relegation in the SSEC Division 3.
Explaining his choice, Director of Football, Ewemade Orobator said " It was a simple choice of appointing an outstanding candidate whose knowledge of the game is second to none" .
An excited Carrin Sharpe added "Football is my passion! It’s the one thing that I never tire of. I have been given an opportunity that many people could only dream of…managing a football team! For so long I have watched from the sidelines and now I am able to get involved and it has meant the world to me. I have been overwhelmed by the amazing support I have received from both the management teams and the players at BIFC and appreciate the confidence they have shown in me. I am looking forward to the challenge and hope that I can in some way make a small difference." |
